Installation of EBS 12.2 Vision instance

Step-by-step installation of an EBS 12.2 Vision instance

Prerequisites:

Hardware:

2 CPU Cores

8 GB RAM

HDD: 10-12 GB (root+swap)

          40 Gb for s/w staging area

          275-300 Gb for database and applications. (Around 200Gb is used for Database and remainder for appl)                             

Software:

OS: OEL/RHEL X86-64 bit

  These are the 12.2 Media Pack ones you’ll need. Make sure to download all of the  multi-part zips.

-Set up /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network as described in the “Verifying Host Names”

-Disbale Firewall.

Create database and application software owners, oraInventory, and and /etc/oraInst.loc

useradd oracle -g dba

useradd applmgr -g dba

 

passwd oracle —————–set password for oracle user

passwd applmgr —————- set password for applmgr user

mkdir -m 775 oraInventory

chgrp dba oraInventory

chown oravis oraInventory

chmod g+w /etc/oraInst.loc

chgrp dba /etc/oraInst.loc

 

Adjust limits.conf

 

hard nofile 65536

soft nofile 4096

hard nproc 16384

soft nproc 2047

hard stack 16384

soft stack 10240

 

Create empty stage area “/stage” and software install target “/u01”.

 

Cd /u01

mkdir -p oracle/VIS

chmod -R 775 .

chgrp -R dba .

Stage the software (buildStage.sh):

 

Cd /stage

 

unzip -q '/u01/soft/V35215-01*.zip' -d .

 

cd startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/bin/

 

./buildStage.sh

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reboot server Once.

 

Start the EBS Installer:

 

Use any graphical console like VNC etc. to start rapid installion:

 

Cd /stage/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/rapidwiz

 

Rapid Install Wizard is validating your file system……

CMDDIR=/mnt/stage/Stage122/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz

Rapid Install Wizard will now launch the Java Interface….

 

 

Answer all installer questions as asked in GUI:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Input your wls admin new passwd and apps user(applmgr)existing passwd:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now you will be able to access GUI as:

 

http://ebs.localdomain.com:8000
